Year for Priests
June 19, 2009 - June 19, 2010
Please Pray for Priests
Dear Lord,
we pray that the Blessed Mother
wrap her mantle around your priests
and through her intercession
strengthen them for their ministry.
We pray that Mary will guide your priests
to follow her own words,
“Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5).
May your priests have the heart of St. Joseph,
Mary’s most chaste spouse.
May the Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart
inspire them to embrace
all who suffer at the foot of the cross.
May your priests be holy,
filled with the fire of your love
seeking nothing but your greater glory
and the salvation of souls.
Amen.
Saint John Vianney, pray for us.

Last night we went fishing with friends & co-workers of Bill’s . We travelled 93 miles north, thru some of the most amazing country! We went to where 2 rivers converged…the Montana River & the Upper Susitna River. Only DH & eldest son Steven had waders with them, so they went out into the larger (Susitna) river. The 2 younger kiddoes & I found ourselves a nice comfy spot on the far bank & decided to draw / take photos.
After about an hour & a half of quietly enjoying the scenery & each others company, ((the 2 kids did NOT fight / argue ONCE!!! I was SO impressed!)) we decided to head back to the truck. ((The mosquitos decided they’d brave the bug spray to get to us!)) The kids played quietly, & I worked on a crossword puzzle until the rest of the guys came back. Apparently, a young brown bear came down to the river to investigate RIGHT where we were sitting. YIKES!!!
Anyhow…here are some photos! Enjoy!
God Bless!

I apologize for not writing as much these past few weeks. It’s not that I haven’t anything TO write about…just a case of me being lazy! That’s the truth of it
We’ve been having beautiful weather lately. Nothing too hot, 78 being the hottest thus far. Great for me…not too hot, not to cold!
We got to go fishing on Thurs. Had a great, relaxing time. Hope to catch something worth keeping next time, but regardless, we all had fun.
Tonight we’re to go to a military apprecation baseball game. There are things for the kids to do before the actual game, so we’re all looking forward to that. Plus, we’re going with friends, so it’s going to be a great time all around!
I’ll post photos either tonight or tomorrow!
Take care & God bless!

Here are some photos from our weekend. We went to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Even though it was drizzling a little, we had a great time! It was also beautiful drive there, as you can see below.
The guys also went to the firing range & had a blast. ((Photos of that to come!))
God bless!

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ARTICLE TO READ!!!!!!
Please read this article carefully and consider cleansing your home with holy water, Blessed Salt and other Sacramentals
Experts urge use of BLESSED SALT, HOLY WATER and other SACRAMENTALS in ‘cleansing’ of homes
Michael Brown - www.spiritdaily.com
Father Gabriele Amorth is the official exorcist for the city of Rome. In Father Gabriele Amorth’s book, among other items of great interest, is Father Amorth’s strong suggestion that we bless our homes. This will protect those who reside in it from sickness, ill fortune, and harassment by evil spirits, who Father Amorth believes are especially rampant in our time.
Such spirits can enter through unholy books, through objects linked to the occult, through sin that has been practiced in a home, and as a simple matter of course. Life on earth is a constant obstacle course, and when we brush against a negative influence, it can cause what’s called an “infestation”: the attachment to a person, place, or thing of negative energy. Use of the sacramentals along with ardent prayer can dispel it.
“In addition to holy water, some use incense or exorcized salt,” writes Father Amorth
“In the absence of guidelines, we have total freedom in dealing with infestations. I want to reiterate that, while I will only mention my own personal experiences, the phenomenon of infestation does not require an exorcist. For instance, I found that a Mass, which any priest can celebrate, is very effective in these situations, and so are prayers recited on the infested location by a group of the faithful.”
Father Amorth lists a number of ways that especially strong spirits can manifest: if a home was used for fortunetelling or a seance, as a place of immoral sexual behavior (especially prostitution or homosexuality), or as the residence or meeting place of criminals, drug users, or those of a masonic-like influence.
But many other actions can cause the attachment of unhealthy spirits. At times, they afflict vicinities in a way that has no ready explanation. It is a test of life, but we have the tools — the weapons — to blunt them. When a curse is mild, Father Amorth says that simply sprinkling an object with holy water will cleanse it. When the infestation is strong, an object should be burned or put in the trash headed for incineration (after it’s sprinkled with holy water ). As Father Amorth (who has consulted Pope John Paul II on exorcism) points out, this is not, as many modernists would have us believe, a superstition. The use of anointed oil and other objects has its foundation in Scripture.
As another expert, Father John Hampsch, pointed out that this is especially true of blessed salt. Father Hampsch, a psychologist and renowned Claretian priest, points out that as a Catholic sacramental, salt blessed by the liturgical prayer of a priest may be used by itself or mixed with holy water (reminiscent of Elisha’s miracle). “In whichever form,” he notes, “it is intended to be an instrument of grace to preserve one from the corruption of evil occurring as sin, sickness, and demonic influence. The blessing promised by God on food and water, as well as the prevention of miscarriages and agricultural catastrophes (Exodus 23:25-26), was extended by God through Elisha in Jericho (Kings 2:20-21), when he was inspired to put salt into the contaminated water. This first miracle of Elisha is the primary Scriptural basis for the sacramental use of blessed salt today, as the Roman Ritual indicates. Hence sacramentals like blessed salt, holy water, medals, and so forth are not to be used superstitiously as having self-contained power, but as ‘focus points’ funneling one’s faith toward Jesus. Thus used non-superstitiously, modest amounts of salt may be sprinkled in one’s bedroom, or across thresholds to prevent burglary, in cars for safety, and so on.”
As for prayer, Father Amorth of Rome suggests this one:
“O Father, come and visit our home (shop, office, and so forth) and protect us from the lures of the enemy; may Your holy angels come to guard our peace and may your blessing remain with us forever. In Christ Our Lord, Amen.
“Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your apostles, ‘In whatever home you enter, greet it, saying, ‘Peace be in this home,’ let this same peace, we pray, abide in this place. We beseech You to sanctify it by the merits of our trusting prayer!
“Pour Your blessings on it, and make it a place of peace. May salvation enter our abode as it entered the house of Zacchaeus, when You graced it with Your presence.
“Entrust Your angels to guard it and banish from it every evil power.
“Grant that all who live in it may please You with their good works, and so receive from You, when their time comes, the reward of Your heavenly home. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord, Amen.”
Once we rid evil, we experience a new joy — and the realization, says Father Amorth, “that whenever God allows evil to happen, it is always for a greater good.”

I just wanted to pop in to let y’all know that Ice is doing well. Healing nicely & learning to play. She seems to be housetrained, because she will whine to be let out & has not had one accident in the house this past week!
She’s learning to come when called, plays with Gonzo, & is learning slowly but surely, to walk FORWARD on the leash!
She’s a ways to go, but with the help of her new family & the wonderful neighborhood kids, she’ll do just fine!
God bless!
